About Me

Bobby has had the privlege to perform with The Temptations, Little Anthony and the Imperials, The Platters, The Drifters, The Spinners, Joe Piscopo, Nestor Torres, Bobby Parker, Tabou Combo, D’Zine, Wayna, The El Reys, Joe Herrera, Ally Johnson, Anthony Pirog, Thad Wilson Big Band, Bohemian Cavern Jazz Orchestra, Brian Settles, Reginald Cyntje, Lyle Link, Lena Seikaly, The Funk Ark, Matt Rippetoe, Dog Fashion Disco, Mike Smirnoff, John Kocur, JS Williams, John Lee, Chick Hall and many others. 


Bobby has performed at several venues and events including Blues Alley, Twins Jazz, The Blue Note(New York), Bohemian Caverns, The Kennedy Center, The Van Dyke Cafe, Mobile Jazz Festival, Abruzzo Jazz Festival, Notre Dame Jazz Festival, Calle Ocho, The Birchmere, The American Visionary Arts Museum, Iota, Bossa Bistro, Bethesda Blues and Jazz, The Air and Space Museum, DAR Constution Hall, The National Museum of Art - Sculpture Garden and American Portrait Gallery. 

With Bassist Kevin Pace and Pianist Gene D’Andrea, Bobby co-founded the DC Jazz Comosers Collective, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization committed to increasing the performance of original jazz compositions in the Washington, DC metro area. 

Bobby Muncy received his bachelors degree in jazz studies from Florida State University in 2001, his masters degree in Jazz saxophone performance from The University of Maryland in 2004 and is currently Assistant Professor of Music at Prince George’s Community College and maintains a rigorous private teaching, recording, and performance schedule.
